Is it possible to go through training, get your CDL and get a local/regional job if your completely unavailable on Saturdays? Btw... I'm in Dallas.

    Thanks

I hate working on those hungover Saturday mornings too, OP.

If ya look hard enough it's out there...

Oh yeah. That was me 4 months ago before reality hit and i realized i had to go OTR. Im liking it though. Hopefully you have better luck than i did but i literally applied to like 200 local companies. They all echoed the same sentiment.

Great... that's what I feared. There are so many different types of driving jobs out there and being in a major city I'm thinking I'll find something... I hope.

I haven't worked a Saturday in well over 6 months. We're union though.

Dallas is a huge area. That means there are local delivery drivers for every type of industry. It's going to take some digging. The driving jobs that offer weekends off don't exactly advertise unless they are desperate, and if they do, you'd only see the advertisement if you knew what to look for!

Not exactly like finding a needle in the haystack, but more about figuring out what to look for.

Soda delivery, beer delivery, p/d drivers (LTL - seniority most likely required), etc. You might be able to land a regional gig and work into Saturday's off. It certainly will NOT be an OTR position.
