Yeah I agree you're right. It was just so extremely frustrating but when I look back I can see it was my planning. Definitely didn't use alternative Google map to double check. And I shouldn't have started that delivery.
Typically it's all self - snitch. Schneider also considers many things preventable accidents. For example when we first got the p4s the bumper sat less than an inch off the ground. Lot of the tank yards I went to are dirt lots and didn't take long for pieces of bumper to break. Schneider put that down as a preventable. Another example is you go to a tank wash in winter and get stuck under a trailer cause they were cheap and speced your truck with only 1 drive axle with power and you have to call a tow to pull you out. Guess what, that's a preventable. Had a guy tell me in the break room he turned down a new p4 truck cause he already had 2 preventable and 1 more would get him fired and he knew almost everyone who got a p4 tore the bumper before long. Had a tow driver even ask me if they made us company drivers pay for getting lulled out cause he pulled a driver out that called then directly. Asked him not to report it to the company and he paid the bill himself. Driver probably was 1 preventable away from getting canned and got stuck at a customer.
This was all 3 years ago so thing may have changed but when I was there, many people would complain in the break rooms over getting written up for stuff like that.
This is really common with empty tanks, they're so light that not being lined up perfect will put the kingpin on the plate nearly every time.
Never. But I see your point. But doing things for the good of the company is different than trying to get ahead by stepping on people. You know the type I'm talking about.
The company 'brown' noser. They make themselves look good by being the one to always report on other drivers and when they end up doing the same don't report anything.
High hooked once. Broke a piece off the 5th wheel, supposedly it was not sold separately so had to change the 5th wheel. now I get out and look all the time. Even if I feel my truck squat. To afraid of an “act of god” situation.
