Can anyone tell me if such a device exists? I'm running a step and where the axles are located there's only the rub rail. I'm searching for a device to attach on front and rear of rub rail but stays above it, to secure loads down either with chains or straps. Typically I will place my remote ratchet straps directly to the rub rail at this location. I plan on running a step with a roll tarp system so placing straps on rub rail at the wheel wells will no work. Any advice would be appreciated.

I run a short piece of chain from the stake pocket in front of the wheel to the pocket at the rear of the wheel. I hook my strap to that chain.

Can you have j hook rails installed to span the wheels inboard of the rail?

In the bigger truckstops, like the Iowa 80, they sell a little triangle, about 4 inches per side, that has a hook on it, no chain. Works perfectly with the MJ method. The triangle is a perfect size for that 4 inch j hook.
