Yes It's probably a better choice than delo for isx, considering isx operates at only about 35 psi oil. I read on rawze something about slightly lower psi, shell is good, slightly higher, say ~60 for cats, delo gets the nod. They are both good.
any oils better then no oil is my motto it just depends on how you run it, for extremely cold conditions i'd use something a little more suitable for extreme cold such as 0 w- 30 or 5 w - 30 if however you running below I - 40 in warmer conditions 15 w - 40 would be fine.
rotella is fine delvac is now my oil of choice but i have bought many of 100's of gallons of rotella without any oil related problems. only issue iv had with rotella is it seems like oil consumption is slightly higher on most engines. witch is not really a problem. i still use the full synthetic rotella in my diesel pickup.
I use Delo just because Cummins says to on the frame but I’ve ran Rotella as well. The 5 gal bottles of Delo are like 10.97 at Walmart which is nice if you do it yourself. I believe the poster above is correct though, the X15 is on Rotella. Honestly I think it all comes from the same well/pump anyway. lol. Slap a sticker on it. Edit: 10.97 per gal but they do have the 5 gal jugs.
Rotella is fine for it. It's a good oil .I run the semi synthetic 15 40 in my pickup and Delvac in my series 60. No issues yet.
Just FYI. I use rotella in cat and it stinks through blow by. I can walk up to fellow truckers and say “you use rotella don’t you?” They say “how you know that?” I say becuase “your truck blow by stinks”
