how many miles?when i change mine 2yr ago,the first 3months,the truck was rolling very comfortable, but only these 3 monts.
I bought 6 OEM from Mack ( same as Volvo ) July 2011 and their out and out of warranty. I'm teaked ! I just ordered 6 new Monroe gas jobs at $60 ea. It's what everybody else is running so i'm going with the crowd. Be wary too, I have spent a load of cash at Mack over the last 18 mos and most of the parts have gone bad including a water filter that was only 6 mos old. Parts quality has dropped in the quest for more profits. I'm getting better stuff off Ebay! JMO When government expands liberty contracts. -Ronald Regan
Well, I have a KW. My replacement OEM shocks lasted about 6 months . $90.00 each. 2 year warranty , but you have to turn them in , buy new ones , and then Paccar will determine whether they'll honor the warranty , and sent you a check . That Sucks ! They start leaking , they're done . Any dang fool can see a leaking shock. The warranty should be OTC , sorry you had trouble with our product. I bought a new Carrier Bearing At KW , had them install it . It was a Paccar , TRP brand. Lasted 6 months . My experience with Monroe shocks isn't much better . I'm saving up for Road King shocks . Pricey , but maybe they'll last. Warranty is better , too.
About $600.00 a pair . They are rebuildable , too . Stainless steel , much larger pistons , made in the USA. I was in a shop a couple of weeks ago , saw a pair on the front of a Pete . Looked like they'd been on the truck for a long time . That Pete did Heavy Haul. The place is in California . Google it.
I own same truck Volvo 780, i stay with OEM i understand are made made by Hendrickson, combined with front air ride ,i don't feel the rough roads and my XZA3 steer tire are running well aprox 170-200k miles .I was looking for Monroe to try, but i coudn't find my size, even at TA and other shops from Monroe ,MI. I got once a of Gabriel adjustable on steer; don't waste $$, the truck was shaking bad aftrr i left the shop;ohh man what a junks, after 2000 mile were gone.
