I got a speeding ticket last year when visiting the states ( Indiana ) 73 in a 55 in my car. I know that was stupid but I just passed a car and a cop was sitting along the road and pulled me over. I went back to Korea a few days later and paid my ticket online, done deal no problem. I have been checking on here and thinking about becoming a truck driver and never gave that ticket much thought until now. My BMV report just says " speeding ticket " . Will trucking companies hire with a speeding ticket 18 mph over ? Thanks
Since it's in a personal vehicle, I don't think most companies will flinch. They usually cap moving violations at three anyways.
That's good , I didn't even think of it for a long time and then I thought maybe a show stopper since 18 mph over. Thanks
If it was on a CDL, yes it would look bad, but on a regular license not so much. Fwiw, I have a 98 in a 55 on my NM CDL, lol. But that was over a decade and a half ago. Almost got fired from Pepsi over it.
I seem to recall more than once seeing companies make statements of "no more than three points in the last three years on your MVR". How many points did you accrue from that ticket?
Since you didn't have a CDL at the time and you weren't cited and convicted for anything worse than speeding it shouldn't be a factor.
Traffic nearly always warns of enforcement quite a distance ahead. That looks like a Cub from here, you know what it means to be behind your airplane. Some yes, some no. I think you'll find the industry pretty forgiving before you start driving... afterward, not so much.
Yeah try to never get behind in my airplane, I wish I was flying that day its hard to speed in a Cub Really try to go the speed limit but that day just got a little heavy on the gas.
