You get throttled on both. RV plan always gets throttled if the area is heavily used for example camping areas with tons of starlink systems like FL. I've really haven't had any hard throttles though.

Right now I use Visible(verizon) + Mint Mobile (tmobile). You can have two plans on the same phone. Visible gives me unlimited hotspot at 10mbit which is fast enough for HD and then I fall back to Mint mobile when I get throttled on Visible. I use about 300gb data a month and pay about $45 a month for both plans.

Im very interested in Starlink but I am in no hurry since what I have works well. It is $130 for OTR? Id me more willing to get it if they could keep it under $100

I have Verizon and I suspect that YouTube actually pays Verizon for priority speeds. I have several streaming services and they all act up when I’m being throttled… except YouTube. It rarely acts up unless I’m in seriously bad coverage or maybe when I’m extra throttled.

Sorry, when I said hotspot I meant a stand alone hotspot not via iPhone/iPad … I have it on 24/7 just as a background service for my gps and HomeKit devices.

When I’m steaming, emails, or other stuff, I have “unlimited” (supposedly) data on my iPhone/iPad which are my main data consumption devices.

Or YouTube just uses a better compression algorithm or something that makes it less vulnerable to throttling. Whereas the other services maybe assume a big pipe going into a home so they focus on quality of stream for big screen tv and the such.

I have been on the waiting list for STARLINK residential since March last year. I initially signed up to be a beta tester but when I was contacted I decided it was too much of a risk to lay down $500 on.
Unbeknownst to me my neighbor got it and loves it. Now I wished I had taken the leap and did the beta test.
The only broad band internet available at my house is satellite internet, I pay for the best plan over $200 a month and I still get throttled after 150gb.
Cell phone signal at my house is not reliable and pretty useless for data, even with a cell phone booster.

What area you live in? The RV plan will probably work with little to no throttle at the house.

Well here she is! Mounted up for 24/7 use and no need to get out and setup. I will be cleaning up the wires so it looks good. It really needs to be about an inch higher but then I may hit a tree limp with it.
