Hi, Im about to start the cdl training with crst Ive been reading many negative comments about crst and Im seriously nervous now. Has anyone had any positive things to say?
Do I train with another female or is it first come? Is this going to be a bad experience?

you gotta start somewhere, and if crst is hiring you, then take it. not the best company but you wont get the best company until you put your time in.

Sonja. What you need to realize is that all of these big companies, CRST included, have 100s if not 1000s of drivers. What you read here, negative or positive, is written by an extreemly small percentage of drivers.

With that said, I'd say don't worry too much about what you read. Go there with the right attitude, do the best job you can, and for god's sake, don't enter into a lease agreement for at least a year or two, no matter how good they make it sound. I could be wrong but I think CRST is one of the companies that really push their lease (fleece) deals. My guess is that the drivers posting negative comments about CRST are one's who went broke on one of the leases. That's just a guess though. I'm sometimes a very good guesser.

Where do you live? You can edit your profile so it shows on each post you make. I'd suggest doing that. Then we may be able to better recommend alternatives for ya.

Most companies try their best to get female trainers for the ladies. That's a question to ask the recruiter.

    Hope that helps. Good luck.

    Sonja,

Let me where you live and we will see what companies you would be eligible for. Have you had any moving violations???

Sonja, you are getting good advice here. It usually takes longer to get a female trainer but they can find you one. Most companies do a pretty good job matching up trainers with trainees. You are hearing negative comments from people who failed for the most part. There are bad situations, but if you read the posts, you will notice that many details are usually left out or do not make sense.

I just want to reinforce one thing.... Do NOT lease.

Thanks everyone. My first day in ace cdl school was ok. Its in albany georgia. Even the instructor says crst isnt the best but like a few of u said gotta start somewhere.
Crst is one of the few companies that do not offer paid training unlike what the recruiter said.

Paid training does not include CDL school. They mean while you are on a truck with your trainer. None of them pay you to get a cdl. They pay the cost of the school upfront, but that's about it

By human nature, people are more likely to post negative than positive. Take what you read with a grain of salt. Remember, there's two sides to every story. Do your research regarding potential carriers and sign-on with the one that meets as much of your criteria as possible. Remember, it probably won't be the only company you'll drive for during your career, but, you never know.
