I know it's "Swift" and the horror stories about Swift, but the dedicated out of Texas seems to work for me, anyone with experience tell me if it's horrible or manageable?

The "horror stories are greatly exaggerated......99% of them are from people that have never worked for them. Remember.......over 90% of new drivers don't even make it 30 days out here....most are gone by 90. Dedicated is a good choice.

I've been with Swift 2 years now. They've treated me well and enjoy driving for them. I do OTR reefer mostly on the West Coast and I'm assigned to the Jurupa Valley terminal in SoCal. Can't speak to other terminals and dedicated, so YMMV. But, here's some of the things I like working for Swift:
    1. If I'm uncomfortable with road or weather conditions, I park it and they are fine with that. As someone with little winter experience, I'm pretty timid in winter weather. Swift has never given me anything but acceptance and support for stopping if I feel that's what I should do. Their company policy on snowchains is a good example. The policy is, only time a driver should chain is to progress to a safe place to park and they'd prefer a driver keep better track of things so he doesn't have to chain at all.
    2. We have terminals in all the bigger cities that it can be a pain in the neck to find parking. Denver, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, etc. We have terminals, no parking problems.
    3. I have a problem, truck issue, trailer tire, etc. I make 1 phone call. They figure everything else out. Where I need to go to get repaired or send someone out to fix me or send a tow truck. I don't have to search around and find find out how to get help. I make 1 phone call, 24/7/365, and they figure the rest out.
There are other things specific to me, but don't listen to the nay sayers so much. Some do have bad experiences with Swift, but many don't.
    Best of luck to you!

The Quality of SWIFT is in their LONGEVITY.
When they coupled with KNIGHT, the duo GREW!
MANY DRIVERS started as well remained at SWIFT as well having gained DECADES OF SUCCESS!!

It's what YOU PUT IN to Gather What You Receive!
YOUR ATTITUDE & PPERSEVERANCE Equal Forward Progression OR Negative Compliance!

YOU DECIDE YOUR FUTURE, just like in non Driving Positions!

Take The HIGH ROAD, You'll Do Well!!

    CHEERS!!

    All Companies have "horror stories".

I'm not dedicated. I'm a regional driver now - Great Lakes Region.
On the north end I get to eastern ND over to MI and OH, down to northern KY and into MO and KS.
Basically OTR but in the upper middle part of the country.

The Pulp Fiction avatar is cool, by the way.

Not sure what happened to my first reply to this comment so I’ll post again, I’m not a troll that is my honest opinion but you are trolling.
