Are you going to Swift's CDL school? If so, it's as good a start as any trucking company school. Does Swift have a passenger program for the wife to ride?
Seems like the flatbed division has a lot of miles to run. Once you have finished training and have your own truck, then apply for the rider insurance policy and your wife can join you on the truck. I ran into a young man at one of our terminals last month that had six months in the flatbed division, starting out training for it. He was averaging 3000+ miles a week. Other flatbedders are saying they average 2600-2800 miles per week. You will make more per mile than the dry van division and get tarp pay, etc. The money sounds good and the miles are definitely there.
Im not going to swifts school im attending a seperate Trucking School. And yes my wife is 21yrs old. And I am 24yrs old. Thank you for the Information.
Melton Truck Lines has a spouse rider program. Trucks have Tri-Pac APU's. Halvor Lines - rider program
I have heard the same thing . I actually thought about switching over to swift flatbed back a few months ago , but decided to stay on a reefer dedicated acct. I have talked to a few guys and all said the same . Good miles and decent pay !!!
I didnt mean anything rude about that comment . It was like 4 a.m. and I had been up for quite a few hrs . I was just in a funny mood ....
