Drove for swift 1.5 yrs, all the support I could ask for, they just cant get drivers more than 2000 mi a week, seems like they drew a baseline for miles per truck and stuck to it. This way they could service all customers asap, great for company, not driver and family. I had to quit to pay for my family, running refers now 3000 mi plus a week, pay raise not cut. Remember its miles not cents per that make the difference. Swift is a great place to start, not bad to stay if your single and dont need a 45000 plus income, but if you want to make more find a smaller company that has not out grown itself, good luck

It makes me wonder why the latest Swift ad focused on customer service........

Last week I ran 2625 miles the week before I ran 3200 miles and the week before only ran 930 miles but it was a short week. Last summer I drove for a smaller company never got paid for reimbursables over $800.00 for 2 1/2 months until I left (all receipts where in their system). Schedules where hard to make legally or safely.

Personally post like this don't belong here. If the poster was happy some what then why not put it in motor carrier question the inside scoop. Swift is not any different than most of the mega carriers. The economy stinks, their cutting driver miles to save on cash, or because of slow freight.. Right now is not a good time to get into the industry period.. If you have a job, that gives you 40hrs week, and make decent money, then stay there. Just because this was always a life time dream for some. It doesn't mean it is a dream you should be chasing at this point in time..
