i wouldn't call it a mistake, i would call it getting started. however, you're right, i should have left it alone.:biggrin_25519::biggrin_25519::biggrin_25519:

I suppose you have to start some where. But I really really really hate to see any body have to start with Swift!! What often happens because of really bad experiences with them and ones like them folks that might have made a good trucker get turned off before they are really given a chance to see if they like the job.

brickman, thanks for the advice, and i really do understand what you are trying to say. it is just that for a newbie it is hard getting in anywhere to begin with. so he just wants a foot in the door.:biggrin_25514:

I am going to orientation on the 20th of Oct at Ocala. I just moved here from Washington state and have only run the 13 western states. I am thinking of running all 48. Are there any benefits or drawbacks when running in one of Swift's comfort zones? I am thinking that all 48 will get me more freight. How's the midwest and eastcoast to drive in during the winter? Do you slap iron often? How hard is it to stay on time during the winter east of the Mississippi? Any tips or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I guess i should've been clearer on that.... lol
The recruiter told me he had a waiting list and should not expect anything for 1 to 2 months. But he said maybe Monday he could tell me more. Obviously I wanted him to say "come on down" as I need a job yesterday. What I wanted to know is if anybody who has taken the orientation in Ocala could tell me what to expect, how long, do they pay during, did they get a trainer right away, do they pay for accomidations during, I guess I wanted to know as much as possible about what to expect. I will ask the recruiter all these questions before I do anything, but a heads up would at least make me feel more secure as this is all new to me and feel I could use any help I can get.
    Thanks in advance
