Are some terminals better then others are far as your base terminal? I currently live in Oregon but would be willing to move to Utah or Arizona.
I wouldn't recommend Arizona. I had to clean out my truck every time I went home and half the time, they gave it away and I had to sit in Phoenix and wait for another one.
I worked for swift for over 2 yrs, yes some terminals are better than others as far as the facilities go themselves as well as the personnel that work in them. Ive been to every terminal just about when I was driving for swift.
Does it make a difference when it comes to what kind of loads you get? Or is it just one big happy family?
Honestly your DM makes you or breaks you. As far as terminals go some are better then others. I live 300 miles from the closest one which is great. When I take home time I don't worry about, turning my truck in on off time. Hell last year I took 9 day's off and my truck stayed at my House. My favorite terminal for personnel is Oklahoma city. For shop wise I like Memphis 80% time you get out quicker.
Oh IMHO the ahole of swift terminal wise is Houston, and the armpit is Gary. But its close between the 2
