This is one of the worst trucking company to work for .Non caring and unprofessional...Cheat drivers on miles driven..Zip code to zip code routing. Unnessary routing on US highway instead of Interstate. Excessive lay over..Down for 4 days ..Unable to provide min of 2000 miles per week on consistent basic.. Work at Swift for 13 months, never work three consecutive week with over 2000miles per week. SWIFT drives truck until truck are almost empty before refueling.. Pays driver per zip code instead of actual miles driven.. Swift will blame driver for a service failure even if driver notified Swift prior to taken a load, dot hours may not allow schedule delivery..Swift doesnt care about the personal welfare of a driver going thru emotional stress.. Notfied company that I was losing my mother and I needed to return home ...Swift routed me 1500 miles in another direction ..Mother died while I was on the road..Nothin

    Sorry for your loss.

Nothing new, a known company that is a steaming pile of dog turds. A buddy of mine with another mega pile of #### had his wife riding with him when they got a call for her to hurry home to Atlanta for a family emergency. At the time they were in Lubbock TX. The next dispatch after telling the company about the emergency; Salt lake, UT! 38K lbs of crackers are way more important than the driver and his family.

Complaining about being routed on US highways instead of interstates... Have you ever thought that the US Highways might be a better route it on different points... Ain't nothing like today steering wheel holders

I have said the same thing as the OP about Swift. When I was there the driver averaged 1700miles. Yet, at just about anytime some one can chime in touting how they got 3500 every week. Yeh, that is what the recruiter told me too, only it sounded like BS then and after I worked for them a while I new it was BS.

Sorry for your loss OP. I am not sure many companies pay actual mileage anymore.

    Sorry for your loss.

I worked for them around 2000 for a VERY short period of time and they tried to pull a similar stunt on me. Gave them 3 weeks advance notice I needed to attend my sisters wedding. Had the plane ticket and everything. A few days prior to, they said sorry, we won't be able to get you home. I kept calm and said okay, no problem. I took a detour to their Denver terminal and turned in my keys and told them to pound sand. Went to my sisters wedding and started with May Trucking when I got back.
    Yep. Swift does suck.
