I am considering Swift to get back on the road after a few years. Swift seems to be the only one willing to give me a chance . I am curious about their Ocala Terminal since I am from Florida . Any stories ?
I have heard they are kinda cliquey. If they like you your set if not.... Just what a couple people have told me I have no personal experience with them.
Ive only had good experiences at Ocala. I took my vacation down there this year. They were very helpful with getting my stuff into the storage trailer, helped me palletize and shrink wrap it. Then when I came back, they had a truck ready and waiting for me to move back into, and they helped me again with unpacking all my stuff from the trailer. Also, I had accidentally left some papers in the truck I cleaned out, and they just stuck it all in a big envelope and gave it back to me when I returned. Good service from a terminal that isn't my "home."
Was just there the other day. A smaller terminal. Plenty of parking. Nice leather recliners in the lounge. Great shop! Got a B-service done in 1/2 day. (Rather than 2-3 days most others)
I'd like to hear from someone who is now driving for Swift. I drove for them OTR for almost a year then stopped about 4 years ago. I'd like to get back to trucking and a Swift recruiter tells me that I'll only need to drive with a mentor for about 2 weeks before getting a truck of my own again. I'm just wondering if drivers are getting enough miles now and in general ... "how's it goin out there?" Some other companies are wanting me to go back to driving school for a refresher course and it sure would be easier and less expensive to just have to spend 2 weeks with a mentor and get paid a little for it at the same time. Thanks and hope to hear from Swift drivers. t
I am going to them on the 18th in PA. I hope they have the miles. If not I am not going to be there longer then 6 months.
