After a long 21 days of learning to drive one of there BIG things, I get on the road Saturday with a trainer. I can't wait to get out there, from what I've been told it is night/Day from "Class".

    It is.

Bad thing is, alot of the guys and gals like you are coming off 4-6 weeks of driving school, and 6 weeks with a trainer. Your funds have to be hurting. With that in mind, Swift may put you in a truck with blue shirted, god-syndromed, smelly ####### that may try to get you sent home on at the first disagreement.

Keep your teeth together and keep your personal business to yourself. Travel light. Do your best to be peaceable. Dont worry about winning a popularity contest. Youre there to drive.

    Best of luck to you.

Not fast enough. You will be assigned the top bunk in the sleeper. If your trainer has bought into the beancounter propaganda, he will not idle the truck. You will suffer tremendously in a layover.

Remember, if you have a problem with your mentor you can talk to driver services about it. They can and WILL place you with another. In fact they keep asking me and my mentor is my husband. LOL

You do NOT have to be with a smelly gross jerk and just put up with it.

DarkHelmet, send me a PM if you want a recommendation for a trainer. Are you planning on running flatbed or van?

Darkschneidr, I put in a request for one that my buddy had, he said he was great, and that is who I got, so with any luck it will be just fine but thanks.

Nana you are right my DM made that clear if we don't get along put in a request.
Triple, I know I will be in the top bunk np, However Swift makes it clear if your mentor try's to make you sleep on the top when the truck is moving, to notify your DM and Safety.

Its not that bad really. Im out of the Memphis term. and it went by pretty quick. Of course there was a wait on trucks so i stayed out one more week. My mentor wanted me to drive for him afterward but i said no thanks. I like my space and wont give it up for anyone... well... unless shes short, cute and cuddly, then maybe ill share... for a while.. lol

Its heaven having your own truck!
