Tanker team

Hi, me and my wife are new cdl holders. After doing a lot of research our end goal looks to be bulk gas teams. We are both 21 have class a with doubles/triples, tanker, hazmat, and just got twic cards. We live in the midwest, but will relocate for the right opportunity. So, our question is, is there any companies that will take new drivers and has decent training? Or what the ladder looks like to get into tanker teams. Thank you!

 

If you mean compressed gas, those companies require at least 12 mos. cdl experience and some require 24 mos. cdl experience and at least 12 mos. of that must be pulling tankers.

 

Yes, compressed gases. Our big thing is we would like to stay together and team. We’ve looked at food grade tankers with no luck. Are there and other tanks we could team on to get experience?

With the economy in the dumps, maybe consider teaming with a reefer company to gain some experience.
Some will let you and your wife train in the same truck at the same time, along with the trainer. Most married couples prefer that.
