2015 cascadia gauge running at 190, digital read is showing 217, anyone know why the huge difference in read out of temperature? Should I just go ahead and change out the thermostat? $84 part at Freighliner? Thanks in advance
Brain fart on my part, i need a 34. Water temp is at 200, and oil is at 225. Is water temp usually around 200? That's what i've been running at. my only curiosity is because i got a check engine light that came and went. Ive noticed the fan kicking on at around 200, normally it kicks on at around 230. I pulled over and opened up the reservoir a little, just hand tightened the coolant reservoir caps, took a 30 minute break, been driving for over 2 hours and i/m keeping a temp of 200 now, no check engine light.
The 16 cascadia I'm in. Stays between 190 and 215 while moving. And it settles to about 175 ish. After idling to cool down in neutral. In the 14 cascadia I used to drive the fan would kick on around 215 to 225. When you get a chance. Let it set for 12 to 15 hours. The open the hood and look for radiator lines that are sucked in. If you don't have that. Then check the level while it's cold. Opening the cap to make sure its settled properly.
Depending on your driving habits. Weight of load. And location in the country yeah 200 is about normal
190 to 200 is the standard on pretty much any vehicle. It's not a bad thing if yours runs a bit higher. Don't freak out unless it's routinely over about 210.
