For telling me 30 miles in advance that a faster route was now available.

I repeatedly tried hailing folks on the radio, but didn't get a single comeback. Of course once people hit that 56minute 7 mile-backup, it was funny how many cb's suddenly switched on

yep, i've been using the updated maps on the phone now. in los angeles.
copilot can do it. but doesn't seem to think about it as much.

what sucks, is when it wants you to exit the freeway on that faster route. then you gotta start watching for them SIGNS.

The CB is good for "what lane should I get in?". Other than that, technology has pretty much taken over.

I disagree, the cb will still be the first to tell you about the accident that just took place a mile ahead of you.

Everything has its place, learn to embrace everything you can and learn to use it well.

This one time in band cam.... No, it was this spring, and I was headed east on I-24. Mrs Garmin rerouted me while I was in Kentucky to get off at the 152 in Tennessee and go around something.
I always keep the cb on, and after Mt Eagle I asked if anything was going on. As I heard nothing..
Got a reply and got off at the 152 and back on at the 158.
I could here them as I got off as to what lane they needed.

OK. I hate Google maps on my iPhone--it's weird. Are you using it on your android or iphone or tablet or just going to maps.google... ?
