I’m a Michelin man for sure. However nothing beats continental HSR3 for spread axle flatbeds. They came on my MAC and I was at first disappointed until I got some miles on them. Very durable side walls, very deep tread, and the front axle drags along pavement with these tires well. Most trailer tires on the front axle get chewed up so fast. But not these.
The broker that I haul for have spreads. The tire guy in the shop uses recaps on the spreads, not one has ever came apart. But on the step decks that are spreads, he uses 16 ply, no caps.
Michelin price, with Chinese quality, never. Again my next set is probably going to be kumhos, we have been using drives on a spare tractor and on the dump trucks and everyone at the yard agrees we like them, which is amazing cause none of us ever agree on anything
