I'm going to be a student in the very near future and I'm thinking about TMC. Now with all the bad threads and few good threads can anyone give me any truthful info on them I will be an otr driver if I go with them, and the recrutier said I would be out 2 to 3 weeks at a time witch I feel is truthful. Also if anyone knows anything about jeff foster that info would be great to THANKS:biggrin_2556:

Read my posts on the other thread, sir. You will find some enlightening info there. I talk about the good, and the bad, my name is on there. I have driven for TMC for 2 years so i'm real about what i tell my fellow drivers.

There are going to be downsides, but they've always taken care of me. I try to stick up for TMC when things that have been false were posted on these threads, so i hope that helps. If you have any specific questions, please let me know and i'll do my best to get them answered for you.

I am not a recruiter, and i don't even drive for them any longer, so i get nothing out of this. Just FYI.

Also, like i said on the other post i will likely be going up there by Monday for a "Rehire" because i needed a "Family break". Been alot going on lately, they're working with me on it which is good. Anyway, it's been almost a month and i want to go back -- i miss driving, the road, seeing the sights, i was born for this job.

I need to go back for 3 days and have another Physical / Drug-Test and then get into another Truck. I might run into ya. :)

And if your interested i can give you my phone number, and answer any questions that you may have about it.

I enjoy working for TMC. There are a lot of posts in the Trucking Company DAC reports section about TMC.

You must be in Northern Michigan, I think the southern part of Michigan qualifies for the line haul home every weekend division.

Good luck to you. I went with TMC, cause the of the work involved, I didn't want to just drive and get fat sitting behind the wheel. I really miss being out in the truck, got into my blood. You will get excellent training from TMC, and hopefully you will get an excellent trainer like I had. But ask alot of questions during orientation, they will say your 1st load will get you home to get your truck ready, that did not happen with me. I was out for 3 weeks and I had to beg to get by the house, and it still didn't happen. Unfortunatly, one of my kids got sick and I had to get out of the truck. After that I went to Indy got another truck. But they gave me a new dispatcher, we did not see eye to eye on alot of issues, some were safety issues. Was it all TMC's fault, no, just the way some things happen, my portable winches, were in such bad shape, rusted real bad the bolts would break off, and being a new driver, I was anal about it, I just needed some time and tools to fix that problem, and that was what the dispatcher could not understand, so I called safety about it, and they told to to get the a tap and die set and get new bolts, and fix it. I was in South Carolina, and needed to drive 80 miles or so to get these items, the dispatcher freaked, and was not very nice about it. We had a few words, and thats when I decided to get out of their truck. So just asked alot of questions. Good luck again, and enjoy your ride.

I have to commend you truckinbiker for the way you handle your explinations. Alot of guys come here blaming the company for everything but you're man enough to admit that it wasn't for you, and maybe others will have different results.

Thank you for your honesty, and i totally understand about it getting into your blood!! I cant' wait to get back into my truck! =P

I hope that one day you find a company that fits you, and you can get that blood runnin' again! Good luck brother!

Did that dispatcher freak on the QC? Cause I'd have his/her ### if that were the case. My trainer at TMC pretty much pushed the dispatcher to go in the direction HE wanted to go. As a matter of fact, he flat out told the dispatcher that he would NOT be accepting ANY more of those little $25 trailer swaps anymore (I know this for fact, because I'm the one who typed it on the QC while he was driving away from the trailer-shuffle job in Phx). Seriously, it was a waste of his time, almost three hours in Phx to go get a trailer and take it to another place. Not to mention the $25 he was to earn for going from Mesa to Cave Creek to "move some pipes from one construction site to the correct construction site about 250 yards away". Basically, spending 3 hours fixing another TMC drivers delivery mistake......... for $25.

Some dispatchers are just high. Others are great. Overall, TMC was a great company. When/If my wife and kid leave me, I'm going back to them. ;D

I would be absolutely irate if that were me. Why should I have to deal with the consequences of someone else's stupidity?

And furthermore, if the pipe didn't belong to the first jobsite, why did they accept it in the first place? Is it the same contractor working at both places? If so, with a signed Bill of Lading it should now be THEIR problem.

Mr. Annett would probably love to hear about such a colossal waste of his trucks' time.

Different contractors working both construction sites. Funny thing is, the contractor from the CORRECT site went to the WRONG site and actually identified his pipe. Then, when we called to get the details of exactly where in the development the pipe was from the CORRECT site, that contractor gave me the name and cell number of someone who had "actually laid hands on the pipe" at the wrong site, but when I called him, he had no clue what I was talking about and had been in Tempe all day the day before, and that morning.

$25 to undo another drivers' mess? I DONT THINK SO! And yes, you are right, I'm pretty sure Harold would LOVE to hear about that waste of fuel and time on his tractors and new Benson trailers. Not sure WHO would care about the $25 the trainer gets for shuffling trailers around a major city. Did it twice in LA, once in Phoenix. He said, and I quote: "NEVER AGAIN!!!!!".
