Ok, I have experience with this one, for sure. Hubby had a terrible tooth ache while we were heading back from AR. I made him stop in Lamar MO at the Walmart there. They have this wonderful stuff that you can plug a cavity with, till you can get to a dentist. Its called Temparin Max. Works great! And its cheap, around $3. You roll a little ball of this stuff and plug the hole where the filling fell out or just where the cavity might be. It will harden enough to stay in while eating after about 3-4 hours. It really worked for him. And its small enough, that you could just buy some and keep it in the first aid kit.

I have never heard of that product, BHW. That is a great temporary solution though. There is a good dental rinse that you can get from the pharmacist, ST-37, it is an Antiseptic/Analgesic.

Be sure to keep a supply of Advil,(or ibuprofen, same thing) it will reduce the pain even if it still aches a little.
I know that petro are opening more medical centers at truckstops, but I don't think they include dentists. Maybe someone can provide correct info on this?

I have had this issue before. I ate oragel and Tylenol, aspirin like it was candy. I found ibuprofen is amazing. Don't know why ibuprofen works great when others fail. It just does. IOWA 80 is home to the only dentist I have found in a truck stop. Found lots near by when I have cracked a tooth or had a sudden ache. Note to everyone Hard candy and bumps in the road bad mix.

I couldn't find it on the Walmart web site, so I linked it over to Walgreens. LOL But it is only around $3 at Walmart.

I hear ya Jolsen...... Ibuprofen is the only thing that works for me, I've even had a Dentist prescribe Vicodan in the past (not while I was driving folks) and 600mg of Ibuprofen - OTC worked better.

Tylenol might as well be candy to me - no effect whatsoever.

Dent's dental wax. Has a pain reliever in it, also keeps hot and cold air away from the problem. works in seconds. Then see a dentist as soon as possible.
