transmission problem

    I had a 94 379 pete with a 10sp eaton transmission when it's cold I had problems with my trans shifting to the high side it also makes a grinding noise when i move the splitter from high to low do anyone no what the problem could be.

    It's the lo-high syncro's in the back section going out. Usually when the oil is still cold it splits fine, as soon as the oil starts heating up it grinds when changing range.

    Double clutch and you wont have this problem. I have the same issue in my 9 speed in a 91 L9000 with series 60.

    I would check the splitter cylinder if it shifts ok warmed up. Splitter cyl o rings could be hard and not sealing when cold. If it is the synchronizer you will have to remove the aux box. If it is a FRO the top plate has to come off also.
