Werner orientation

    Well I'm graduating from truck driving school tomorrow after attending a 8 week program. I have decided so far to go with Werner. I will be attending their orientation starting August 27th and was told that after training I could get a dollar general dedicated account which consists of running loads in FL, GA & AL.     good luck in training and pray u dont starve cuz u wont hardly get paid anything. if i were u i would look at other companies before goin with werner. u wont get alot of miles after training and as far as the dg account. dont count on it being open by time u finish up with a training. count on roughly 7 weeks with a trainer. i would check schneider first because there training program is shorter and they pay more. werner has the lowest pay in the industry. if u do go with werner i wish u the best of luck but i would seriously look around more. stay away from werner knight and c.r. england if at all possible. try roehl and schneider first. swift isnt much better

    I don't know about DG accounts in fl, ga, or al,, but there are always a lot of those accounts open with Werner, because no one likes to do em...I havent' worked for Werner in a few years, but it's true,, they don't pay anything....Also, those DG accounts are "Driver unload". A lot of people get hurt unloading those trucks with those rolltainers that you use...Lot of broken limbs,,, ( I;ve seen this with my own eyes, happens a lot). Also,, when I was there,, There were usually 3 stops a day for DG....Each stop only paid $11.00 dollars each stop to unload,,, Seems like they might have went up to $16.00 each stop before I left...Not for sure.....So that's about what you'd get besides the mileage pay....Also,, the lifts on the trailers will mess up from time to time....Now, with that being said, They do have good trucks...And they might have went up on pay... Don't know...Just get ready for a workout with those DG accounts....GOOD LUCK

    I wouldnt go with werner. that was my first choice out of school and was the worst 5 days ever. the orientation sucked and the people there werent that friendly, the drivers i talked to were nice but the staff at the terminal i didnt care for and they left me to hang and dry in the hotel with no communication. They dont treat you right thats for sure.

    I worked for Werner on the Dollar General account. If you can learn quickly and work smart, not hard, things will work in your favor on that account. If you're working out of Bessemer, better hope they have their act together. I ran out of there and my trailers were always still loading when I returned from my last trip. If all goes as it should, you have potential to make at least $850-$1000 a week gross. Good luck.

    I would like to thank you for ur reply. Im also considering Roehl. Roehl has already given me a pre-hire and I just greaduated from truck driving school today. So, I will consider Roehl cause their pay is I think more than Werner and also their training is shorter. Home time is supposed to be better, too, which is important because I have two kids. What I would like to know though is I've already told Werner I would like to attend orientation August 27th. If I change my mind and tell Werner thanks but no thanks for orientation, will that look bad on me and my dac
