Really not too much of a difference there.

At a glance, I think I-70W to the Turnpike looks shorter (no need to get on I68--it splits and you stay on I-70 to the Turnpike.)

Being lazy with an E-Z pass, I'd take I-83. Really, not much of a difference.

If you don't have EZ pass, definately take I-70. Depending on where you're going in Bedford, you may not even have to get on the Turnpike.

i did the mileage on streets, it's saying the shortest route is 1S/695/70W (@165mi) right into bedford. 68 takes you all the way west thru WV, so that's wrong. if i'm not mistaken, aren't there a couple wicked pulls on 70W before you get to 81? how heavy is your load?

1S/695/83N/pa turnpike is @170 mi, but has tolls. i would go that way if you need to make time.
