I will nose in depending on the sun....my truck is dark color and heats up fast and I dont idle anymore..but I sleep better when a reefer is next to me..dont know why lol I dont have a teddy bear....just a blow up girlfriend..lmao j/k
Exactly the right answer. Why should anyone care whether the driver noses in or backs in? The answer is Personal Choice. As for the stuffed animal, try sleeping with one. Almost like sleeping with mommie, but not quite as stimulating.
Ya, sometimes I nose in for privacy and to spare my neighbor from noise. And have been known to nose in when the 8pm rodeo is going on - if I went around to set up a back someone else WILL snag that spot. Its important to be able to back up in the a.m. though... So, sometimes it has nothing to do w/ talent on backing!
I can categorically state I have never nosed into a spot. And if I haven't done it by now, I likely never will because of the ever-increasing speeds drivers are exhibiting in truck stops. The less backing, the better. But it is a personal choice. And I wish more of those that did nose-in gave some forethought to how easily getting out will be, not just for them, but for any adjoining trucks. You can usually tell the difference between lazy and making an active choice for cause.
My pet peeve, is mobil home , camp trailers taking up truck parking. If I owned a hundred thousand dollar rv, the last thing I want to do is park in a truck stop where it's noisy
Pulled into a truck stop and there were four campers parked sideways and they were all sittin in lounge chairs in a big circle yappin and eatn hot dogs.took up like 5 spaces.....looked like the griswalds on there way to wallyworld with uncle eddie..lol
Spread axle flatbed doesn't turn as easy as tandem axle vans. Why turn around and back in when the spot is straight in front of you.
Personally, I think it takes a lot more skill to back blindly into traffic than it does to alley dock between two stationary objects. Just saying.
