I was thinking about writing letters to my wife back home. Was just wondering how could I do that? Figured it would be somthing to do on a 30 minute break to pass time about all the things I see and how much I love her.
don't see that as being a terrible idea. most truck stops have a mail drop might wanna keep some stamps on ya though. i worked a deal with a local florist that will deliver flowers for me and wait for me to get back in town to come in and pay for them. i'd also advise ya to have plenty of minutes and text msgs on your phone plan. best of luck to ya Driver.
does your wife not have a cell phone? are you aware its 2014? people can make phone calls from a mobile telephone now while driving. also, those annoying letters on the phone now have a purpose they can use to send alphanumeric text messages from person-person you can even videochat from the same phone to wife. which is great if she's nude or even dressed I know, its alot to take in. these modern conviences are acheivable from a "smart"phone. if you have an older phone then sell it to some hipsters for some stupid price, they'll pay it. you can identify a hipster by thr fact they look terrible
cell phones, video chat, internet...its all good, but sometimes there is something about a shoe box full of postcards sent from random places around the country that just is 'better". My fiance and kids talk with me on a daily basis, but they LOVE getting those random "extra" bits of Real tangible hold in your hand Mail from dad.
Email, texts etc are so impersonal. Letter writing is a lost art. Shoot, simple conversation is a lost art in this day and age. There's something romantic about hand written love letters. To read them years later is an emotional high. It's an instant shot of love. Just my two cents.
I'm 24 years old. I want to do somthing different. I have an iPhone 5 but I figured writing a letters to her would be somthing more romantic or personal then the regular old text message or email. Thought I would see if that was possible. Thanks for the positive responses.
i have a shoe box full of letters. it stopped filling up when the 21st century rolled in. do they even sell pens these days?
Most at all truck stops will mail a letter for you, some have the big blue mailbox outside, ignore the idiots on here
Of course it is possible. In fact, it sounds like a wonderful idea! As has been posted. . .keep a writing tablet, some envelopes and stamps and go for it! Of course this would be in addition to talking with her on the phone every day, right? That can be a bit hard to do, depending on how your and your wife's schedules fall. But there should be very few 24 hour periods that you are not in contact on the phone, at least for a few minutes. But the idea of letters, in addition to the calls, sounds great to me!
