I understand this is some kind of safety training , Can anyone tell me how much it cost and a little about what the training course covers and more?
the company that hire you will take care of that. its basic training/power point stuff about oilfield , like entry permit, h2s , defensive driving, fatigue, etc If you have to pay it for yourself , you are in the wrong place.
I took it on my own with safegulf and h2s hoping it would help get me hired somewhere. It was about $200. Then the next two companies that I was hired by made me take it again. It's hours and days of boring power point stuff that is immediately ignored as soon as you get out in the field.
Would never pay for that crap, go to a company that covers it for you. You may need Hess, Oxy, Marathon, Conoco, etc saftey cards too depending on where you service. They all say the same crap and you'd go broke trying to pay for that garbage. Don't wear your H2S monitor on your shoe or hardhat, always check the windsocks for wind direction, always park backed in so you can pull foward out during evacuation and minimize running people over, etc. Basically don't be a dumb dumb out there.
It is less about safety training, and more about companies cya. If the company wants it, let them pay for it. A lot of power point slides, about tripping, don't drink, pay attention to what you are doing. To old timers, we call it common sense.
