I'd say its normal and as Chinatown mentioned you probably will be driving that truck locally , they are paying for hotel - way to go .
Sounds like some miscommunications, understandings, or even getting all the information upfront Whatever the case, trucking usually doesn’t work around your schedule and it also takes these companies time and effort to get a new guy into rotation etc In sure they have their fair share of guys not showing up. Quitting right away. This that or the other so it’s a pretty big give and take from all sides In the future with them or any other company ask questions. Most will give straight answers but some may not
Get urself back home with there truck then leave . They lied to u from the start according to u . The lies just continue
Let me get this straight. The Company FLIES you to their location for School, gives you a job, issues you a Tractor, sends you back home in that Tractor with a PAID LOAD, will put you up in Hotel room along the way, ............ And you are whining and complaining!!!! Entitled much? I doubt you will last 90 days in this business.
Did the OP pay his way to Houston, or the company? I would give the company a little leeway. Hopefully your training was paid, and you will be paid to get home. That’s more than some company’s do. Don’t be surprised if the tractor trailer you move to CA will be for a more senior driver, and you assigned an older unit. You are at the bottom of the seniority list after all.
