I don't fly much but I've tried to use the state and CDL number to get precheck and it wouldn't work. But it did put me on tsa precheck when I entered the number on the back of the TWIC card.

    4wayflashers Thanks this.

If you have a TWIC card then you can use the PreCheck line at the airport. When you buy your ticket there will be a field for your Known Traveler Number, enter the number printed on your TWIC card there.

Just having a CDL doesn't get you into TSA precheck but getting the hazmat endorsement and going through that particular background check does.

That’s funny…….. I asked if I could use my TWIC card for pre-check TSA, they told me it’s a different screening all together. So I’ve never used it for that nor tried it.

Known Traveler Number may appear as KTN. Go to the airline that you are going to fly through and set up your KTN before buying the ticket on their app.
