7 on/7 off or 7/4-7/3

I'm so new I'm not even new yet. Doing homework on the various companies hiring drivers, one company offered the 7 on/7 off option or the 7/4 - 7/3 option. What does that mean?

 

1) If someone other than Roehl does that, let us know.

2) 7/7 = Get in the truck, go OTR for seven days, ending back where you started, and then go home for seven days, while someone else uses the truck for your down time, You're out for 26 weeks a year. your pay will be affected accordingly.

7/3 7/4 = You, and two other people, share two trucks, you go OTR for seven days, then you're off for three, then you go out in the other truck for seven days, then you're home for four, then you're back to the first truck, and out for seven days... ad infinitum Average 18.5 days OTR/ month. your pay is affected accordingly.

Yup. a chunk of people here are on either of those fleets, here. (I start orientation Wednesday, for the 7/3 7/4 Flatbed Fleet out of Gary.) So, I don't have any pratical knowledge of anything. But, I read a lot, cause I'm obsessive, and have too much free time.

 

I was thinking about applying for the 7/3-7/4 program that Roehl offers. It will obviously be less money than full time otr, but it may provide that right balance of otr experience/home time.

Has anyone done this program, how did you do financially? Were the miles there?

 

good luck to you. I myself am interesged in Roehl in the 7/3 7/4 flatbed plan!! it seems to have the best of everything - the better pay of flatbed, a decent amount of mileage, plus great home time. No way will I be home only 4 days a month....

 

What is the flatbed pay scale for Roehl?

I did, it gives me the same pay scale as van...starting at .30 and to .36 after 12 months.

The 7/7 and 7/4 & 7/3 driving plans are Hometime plus, and mileage pay is based on the National rate. If you choose to do flatbed, are a newbie, and elect the 7/4&7/3 plan the pay rate is 0.32/mile.

IF you go Regional it's 0.30/mile.
