Hey to all the experienced truckers out there, I am a new driver of only a few weeks. What a life change. I am over the road and out for two weeks at a time a looking for an antena that works. The one hook up in the truck does not give good reception. I would like to get local channels as I can not afford a satellite set up. Can I get some suggestions? I see a few at some of the truck stops, are these any good? Please advise, thank you.

Walmart sells one for less than $20.00 that has served me well. It is a Phillips model SDV6122T/27. Haven't been to a place yet where I didn't get at least 5 or 6 channels.

I think most built in antennas use the radio antenna. That sucks for digital signals for TV.
The best i found was the RV antenna but but not very easy to mount in a truck.
I found one that is adhesive and hides along the top of the air dam on the tractor.

I will look for the link.

Radio shack has 'em for $14....works great, don't even have to mount it outside, just sits on the shelf behind the TV. RS guy told me it would not work without getting the antenna outside the cab, but he was wrong, works perfectly!
