is there like a broker website or shipper website that shows all the place owner operators can go to pick up their own load and use their own trailer to make money? i got man company names from this site but I was hoping for more and with very good pay.
The good load boards require authority (MC#) to access them. They have free demo's though for anyone. Search the web for Internet Truck Stop, and Truckers Edge DAT load boards. There are several, I like those two.
Many have been trying this but I place shippers that want to go direct in two categories. First is they are so small that they don't see the value. They will just talk to local people and find carriers to work with. Second is the larger ones that work direct but they have a department that works with carriers and the rates often aren't better and many times worse than what you find from brokers. Challenge is that the people that are creating this are filling what many O/O's fill is a need but the other side (the shipper) doesn't see the need. If they are willing to pay $1,000 before costs, they can give that to a broker and eliminate many of the hassles or do it themselves and take the overhead out of the load rate. Many don't even feel that is worth it.
