I did great with my trainer. He gave me good marks and passed my road test. The day I showed up at Omaha terminal to test out, I got called back to safety. They said I had some mysterious "incident" during my training. They could not tell me what it was, nor did I even know about it. They road tested me on a transmission I never trained on, and failed because apparently the examiner can't tell the difference between a red light and a yellow one.

I did not hit anything, nor did I get pulled over. Am I blackballed out of the industry because of the termination?

No you're not blackballed. Put in more applications.

    Dolphin Lines - Mobile,AL

Benny Whitehead Trucking - Eufaula, AL

Comcar - terminals all over the Southeast and other places. You probably see their trucks running I-10 through Mobile.

    Howard Transportation - Ellisville, MS

Don't limit your applications to just these either.

That's called a Pink light. It's in the Drivers manual. :biggrin_25523: I've had a bunch of mysterious incidents in my lustrous career. Be honest with yourself and do the best you can. Everything else will fall into place.

You had a mysterious "incident" during training that you have no knowledge of and you had trouble shifting gears during your road test so you were fired? Tell this unlikely story to a prospective employer and see if they hire you. Good luck.

depending how close and fast im going I will run a yellow, also depends if im empty, bobtailing, heavy etc. Cant easily stop on a yellow if your close with 40k+ lbs of freight in your trailer.

Though during road test your normally with an empty trailer and stuff, was there a reason you could not stop at the yellow turning?

It not the end of the world. If it all that you failed your road test then Laugh and apply at others. Nothing imposible to those who are determine.

I am a living proof. Be determine, and you get what you want. I was told I could not pass college course, I made A honor role. I was told I could not get into the US Coast Guard, I did 13 years in it, I was told I would have to go back to Truck driving school or take a refresher since I was out of trucking over 7 years, Never did but went back trucking. Be determine and you will get what you want. As John Paul Jones said in the heat of Battle, Do not give Up the Ship. By that they saved their ship but also took over the other ship they were in battle with.

I was empty, but I was too close to the light when it went yellow to stop with the traffic I had behind me. A pile of cars would have eaten my trailer if I got on the brakes.
