Hey guys and gals just looking for a little advice here from some of you experienced drivers who are kind enough to help.. Ok so we started a company not too long ago, we got one van and one reefer, Im the dispatcher for them. The drivers are my dad and uncle, both are really good always on time and take the job seriously both have about 10 years of experience. They got tired of getting used by another dispatcher so decided to end up their own company, and here we are now. What are some tricks to getting good loads? Im using load boards right now, How can i get straight to the customers without going through 10 brokers? Also even through loadboards whats the fastest way to book so that i dont give it away that im a noobie? Everytime a good load pops up by the time i call its already booked... Thanks in advance! Also if you have some good lanes hook me up!
Get your own direct shipper contacts. That is the only real answer...unless you get established and find a really good broker who comes to you with the good freight before posting/listing it elsewhere. How good of a salesman are you?
seems to me theres going to be a learning curve. Do what you can to keep them moving and in the meantime try different things in addition to the above.
Get Both trucks empty in a busy City nearby and post them at about 3 pm and know ahead of time what you have to have per mile to make some profit ...Oh yeah its always more miles than they say !
Would all you O/O please list your best contracts and contact persons so i can get me some good loads. I am to lazy to do the work, so i need you to tell me where i can steal your best loads.
