I hear you on that. Weve been waiting at the DC in henderson since 0730 and they sent us a load to pick up in Lewiston on the east side of 95 and then to Troy, OH dayton area. Problem is that we have to get our windshield replaced bad! The crack has gone from 2" to about 36"...called Bill and he is going to see if the folks can do it today. So we would prob be back by there around midday or so...

 

Wow. They just rejected 14 pallets of grapes because the shipment was underweight. Now sitting here waiting for what to do with them. Watch out JB you could be picking up George and going to Lewistown instead of us! They are going to have to pull us off that next load now...we are almost done watching Duck Dynasty season 1 and we will prob be well into season 2 by the time we get out of this mess...and Terry wondered why I wanted to have my TV...nuf said!

 

Well we did have to run that load from NC to Dayton... Then backhaul more chicken guts from washington IN to Strasburg VA. Got to be there tomorrow morning. Iwould assume since we have hometime Friday they will go ahead and split us up tomorrow if they bring us back to Richmond. Theyll prob give Terry a load for Charlotte to run Friday so he can take this KW home. And keep it!!! In my humble opinion the Volvo beats this truck in all aspects except the KW has soft leather seats and a mattress...and thats it. Oh and headlights are the best low beams ive ever had!

 

Amen. Back in a Volvo ...1408 and i am running solo up to Michigan Sunday and get back Tues night to pick up my trainee for the next couple of months. Met him today and he seems level headed about 10 yrs older than me. That didnt seem to phase him so hopefully that hurdle is overcome. Sooooo glad to get out of that temperamental KW. Beautiful truck with a great motor but the Eaton 10sp auto is the weak link. 10th is a pure overdrive and worthless unless on dead level terrain. Someone has already christened this new Volvo with a deer on the headlight. All repaired. Shop did an amazing job on the interior cleaning it. I explained to the powers that be I cant do the smoking. My choice and told them elec cigs ok as long as they dont foul my air! Terry and i got along great even though he smokes. Hes a fun guy to run with.
On hometime now...then back to my 3 weeks out cycle...

 

Missed the driver meeting today...took my daughter to the parade instead. Got to the truck grabbed my trailer and made it up to Perrysburg at the J. They called me Friday and verified I have a valid passport which I do so I will be going to Ontario after my drop just west of Detroit Monday. I wanted to make sure I cleared the weather in the mountains before the roads got bad. Allegedly...
I was setting up my dash display to my liking and got excited because it still stated 71mph limit but that was short lived. 68. Oh well I had a dream...

 

Maybe the Lumberjack Slam at the Dennys was not such a good choice after all...i definitely beat the weather getting up here to Perrysburg early now headed to Orchard Lake MI to drop on cooler at a Kroger...then i go into Canada for the first time tomorrow morning. Whats the deal with Canadian toll roads? I am crossing at Port Huron and going to Cambridge ON to deliver... Making an assumption they accept us currency? Ezpass? Heck i have only used my passport to go to Trinidad and Grenada in the Caribbean....
