@Chewy352 I'm disappointed. Did you not see the pics that Ruthless ( I think) posted about how to stow the excess strap? Other than that I dont see a problem here...............

Yes. Not that it would make much difference to a 8,500# bundle of steel. Or six.

From what I understand, the FMCSA lifted the headache rack requirement because they determined it really doesn't protect the driver.

I was just wondering with the comment about the way the truck would look without the bunk extensions. I personally look at a headache rack equipped truck without bunk extensions as looking like the truck is wearing a backpack (fully enclosed headache racks is what I'm thinking of here), hahah. Not to say that's a bad thing...

I drove by a GTI Specialized yard today, line of trucks parked by the fence all without extensions and with full enclosed headache racks.

The black International I used to run had a little damage to it's rack... Something must have happened but I don't know what. I'd still rather have one than not.

Yeah, I don't like the fairings at all. We have another truck with the same setup as mine (Ultracab, 48" tall bunk) without the fairings and the same rack as mine (a simple 12 chain open rack) and it looks great (my dream would be a 63" flat top but we don't have many of those for regional drivers and I love the truck I'm currently in).

I think the damaged fairing looks like crap and wish they would just take them off. I don't pull vans and aerodynamics aren't a concern.

Yeah us company drivers can't always have what we want...

Haha, yeah. And if I damage them enough to warrant removal, I'll get written up for it.

Thank you for thinking of me! Truly I am honored you took your time to tag me in something. I didn't know I made that much of an impact on you, now every time you see something like that you will think of me? I can feel the love in the air, can you ?

I really didn't do that to be mean, I don't know what I'm doing half or more of the time. I hope you didn't take it that way.
