Be conscientious of purchases. Recently, I was at a checkout buying some food, and noticed the price that the cashier rang up seemed around $1 more than it should cost. I informed the cashier, and they noticed that two drinks had been billed instead of the one that was actually being purchased. The cashier then removed the extra drink from the bill that had been charged in error. I tend to purchase items at truck stops in small quantities, to have a good idea of what the items should cost including tax. If the total cost does not seem correct, I question it. On another occasion, a cashier had nearly given back $5 instead of the correct amount of $6 because they misread the numbers on the register. I had caught their mistake, and they made it right. The vast majority of my truck stop purchases are error free, however people are human. Hope this suggestion and advice helps someone out there, especially newer drivers.
I've been pretty lucky, the other day the Wendy's rung up a Sausage Egg and Cheese Bisquit instead of the Sausage Bisquit I ordered, I let it go, it wasn't bad.
I haven't noticed being overcharged or short changed very often. But, my favorite thing is buying something; let's say it comes to $6.78. The cashier sees me pull out a $10 and immediately punches $10 into the register, which will tell them to give me change of $3.22. Then I give them 3 pennies and they freak out. They don't know what to do.
In other news water is wet. Who never pays attention to the person einging up sales? All humans make mistakes, the computer reads two scans accidently, etc. Always pay attention.
Almost lost 100 bucks long ago cashing a check. If I hadnt counted it right there in front of the dude it would have been tough luck. Pretty sure he did it on purpose.
Had a fella ring up items by scanning only the most expensive item more than once, I quickly brought it to his attention. He acted like he took it of but idk he didn't give me a receipt.
yeah, for instance in Ca. at Subway, if it's "to go" no sales tax, if it's "for here" there is sales tax. The one exception is hot food which is taxed either way.
Lots of people don't pay attention. They could be thinking about scale tickets, fuel receipts, delivery/pickup appointments, etc.
Talking about being overcharged i just stopped on the way home from my round trip i bought a sandwich and a custard tart, Sandwich $7.99 Custard tart $7.99 thanks very much Puma @ Marlborough the biggest highway robbery scam in the country.
