Well it depends on the stop I guess. If all you do is dock it is $5, if there is unloading involved then it can be more, depending on the type of freight you are unloading. I won't get into all the different types because there are a lot of them.

Hey Sal, this is HD06's wife. Sorry about replying to the old post. Just started going on here (obviously) and I didn't notice the dates. Actually, I've been curious as to what kind of strength testing do they have you do during orientation? I'm not a very big woman, but not weak either. What would be easy for a man, I may have more trouble with, depending on what they actually have you do. Any insight on that would be great!

My wife didn't have too much trouble with it. She's not super woman or anything, but she has never minded getting her hands dirty so to speak. I'll see if I can get her to post a little something about it.

That's good news! Would be great to get your wife's view of it also, thank you! I'm not a girly girl either, so to speak, but no super woman either.... just on the petite side. I know they have you do lifting, pulling and pushing things, but was wondering if anyone knew how much weight it actually was.

vickster, first- welcome. second, i THINK the weights are different for women?? again i THINK, but seriously, look at 80% of the truckers out here. if all of those guys/women can pass with all the " extra padding " on them, then im pretty sure youll be just fine.

... petite is always nice. specialy seeing you.. i mean petite women walking through the truck stops and such. and if you are petite and have that inocent look it will work in your favor witht he shippers/recievers/dot/me..opps i mean... aww heck. welcome aboard.

If you have to go through the 30 day school, you'll go to Missoula.

I'm not sure what you mean by the loads being finger printed.

Awwww, thank you! You're too sweet!! That'd be awesome if there were different weights for the women. Then I wouldn't have any concerns at all! Guess I'll just have to wait n' see. "Extra padding" also means they have to have more muscle to hold all that up! lol As for being a smaller woman, I guess it does have its advantages when it comes to getting help from the gentlemen such as yourself! Good thing there's guys like you.... most truckers are more than willing to help out a fellow-driver when they need it. I'm looking forward to getting out on the road... SO much better than being stuck behind a desk in an office! I see you're in PA, and was wondering if you were allowed to take the truck home during home time?
