I've recently started working for a broker that's just getting into freight. I've been bidding on fr8star with moderate success but every so often I get outbid by what I can only assume is a driver. Are there alternatives to fr8star that only allow brokers and not carriers to bid directly?
Hell if I know. I wouldn't be on it, anyways, though. Those "open to everyone" bid sites are a massive time suck for little return.
For real, I'm putting in entirely too much time for the return I'm getting. The company I'm with has mostly done cars and is just starting to really expand into freight. What's a better option than fr8star?
Yep. It's nuts. I'll put in a bid and then someone will come in with an all in bid that's below my carrier pay.
Ironplanet's shenanigans, the name of which escapes me at the moment, immediately springs to mind. I spent some time early on in my brokering trying to snipe loads off of that. Just got to be too much of a headache looking for worthwhile stuff to bid on and then never getting it or getting the end customer trying to slice your throat for a few pennies more.
