    I am also oing to start driving for Marten at the end of October so I am hoping i am making a good decision

    ive been with marten since 4/07 and all i can say dont get hurt on the job.

    Well if they do fire you they had better have a #### good reason other wise that's a lawsuit for being fired under false pretences. (sp?) I guess I'm gonna call them back in the morning and be on the bus Monday to Atlanta. No positions opening in TX right now. They tried to get me on a plane but i told them flat out "hell no!" I don't fly.

    I know at the company we are with now, we had to to the old lift a 50lb bad of stuff up to cab height. Pull a palletjack with 500lbs on it. Do the crawl under the trailer routine, Lift 40 lbs over your head(in a crate not barbell). Wasn't hard for me but she was nervous about it. She did it, and yes she was sore... she just worked up her adreline and went for it. How often do yu have this test? Ours is anually.

    Lifting weights? This is a new one on me. I know that some companies (mostly LTL, beer, or grocery companies) have a legitimate reason to make sure you can lift a certain amount of weight, but I've never heard of Marten doing that.

    Did you have a pre-existing injury or health issue? Were you going to a dedicated account that required you to handle the load in some way?

    Maybe Marten is doing something new I haven't heard of before?

    I've heard this is becoming very common for many co's. It's all about the Health Care premium they pay every month. The more rigorous they make it the lower the premium.

    I hate to to tell you but you are wrong about being fired. Unless you work under a collective bargaining agreement, Union or otherwise, you can be fired with or without cause. That means for anything at any time. They don't even have to have a reason to terminate you. I don't see too many companies on here that provide an agreement with their drivers.
