They said exactly that and then mention that they were the new monitoring company for the high value loads.
I was extremely happy to finish delivering that! Way to many phone calls.

I had an extreme HV load last year that was in excess of a million dollars. Same thing, call everytime you stop, call again when you leave. I picked it up in San Bernardino and went to Mississauga Ontario with it. I was crossing the Colorado River bridge on the CA/AZ line when my phone rings. It was the monitoring company asking me why I stopped. I told them I didn’t, they said their computer and tracking says otherwise. I politely told the young lady on the other end that apparently their state of the art system might have an issue. She said it doesn’t, I told her I’m moving and this conversation is over. 9 miles down the road I pull into the Loves in Lake Havasu at the 9mm, 230 miles from the pick up and well past the 200 mile limit. I no sooner pull the brakes and the same young lady calls me. Wanting to know why I stopped. I told her I’m past the 200 miles and need fuel, she then tells me I’m only 195 air miles away. I asked her to repeat that and she tells me again I’m 195 air miles. I did everything in my power to not laugh. I politely explained to her that I’m on the interstate, on the ground in a truck, not 30,000 feet in the air in a plane. She told me they go by air miles, I told her that I’m in a truck with a steering wheel, not a 747 with a joy stick. From that moment on, it was a complete cluster dealing with them across the country. When I got to the border crossing in Michigan, in the middle of the day, there was an issue with the customs paperwork that took 4 hours to fix. In those 4 hours, this same young lady called me every 15 minutes wanting an update. I finally told her to call the Canadian authorities at the Sarnia crossing and ask them. From now one, whenever I go across the border with an HP load, I make sure I get and extra bone thrown in for the border crossing, otherwise, I’ll leave my passport home.

    Very same thing!
I drove all night because this load had to be at the consigned at 6:00 A.M. and I get there at 5:00 A.M. The security guard said to me...”Receiving won’t open until until 6:00 A.M. go park at the Flying J that’s 5 minutes away and come back later” (I ask him if I could stay park on the side and he said No!).
So of to Flying J ... I went at that time... tired, hungry and sleepy. When backing to the only spot that was open and it was a difficult one the phone rings.... It was also a young lady with attitude saying “Why are you parking at the Flying J!” My blood pressure went up! But respectfully I told her what happened and her answer was “Call us the minute you get there”. When everything was done and finally I was driving empty out of the consignee... I was saying and signing... “Free at last Free at last! Thank God all mighty I’m Free at last!

Does Abilene provide a company phone? If not, send dispatch a message on the tablet, let them deal with the monitors. F that noise.

Not that I know of. But in this experience I do have to say that technology has become the coin with two sides for the truck driver; in one side of life experience it's a blessing in the other side is a curse. It all depends on who's in the other side controlling it.

Holy crap, they're sending me to Califnordia. I didn't even have to ask. It's been 6 months since the last time I was out west, so they're holding pretty steady at sending me to Califnordia twice a year.
