Hey I got a cat c15 acert with a 10 speed(FRO-16210C) that gave up on me this weekend... A buddy of mine has a 10 speed eaton but the numbers on his are (RTLO-14610-T2) that came off a Detroit 60... Will this bolt up to mine? Will I benefit or lose anything from this as far as gear ratio, mpg etc? I don't know if I should pick his up for $500 or pay 2k for a rebuild. Let me know please I need to get this done tomorrow to get back on the road!

I'm sure it will bolt up but the 14 is torque (1400) so you don't want that as yours is a 1600 torque now.

FRO = Fuller Roadranger, Twin Countershaft, Overdrive
RTLO = Road Ranger, Twin Countershaft, Low Enertia, Overdrive

    FRO-16210C
    16 x 100
    2 series design
10 number of gears or speeds

    Strider Thanks this.

Simple answer, yes it will work.
Is it the best to put back in there, no.
Are you putting this in yourself? If not is it costing you $1000 for the shop to change it? Will that money be well spent if it fails? The cost of service on the road is a killer. If you can get it done now with warrantee, thats still going to be cheaper then the tow+ expensive shop service rates+ what ever they have to put in there for you+ the SECOND time its down for trans work.

The rtlo-14610 is a long complicated way of saying is a 1450 torque super ten and it will cost you more than $1000 to install because the super 10 is a longer transmission than the FRO (slang for your transmission) that's in there now meaning you will have to shorten your drive shaft to accommodate it. A rebuild with a warranty is the only way to go if you are making a living with this truck. Pay a little more and let an actual transmission shop (not a dealership or some guy that isnt proven in this trade) rebuild it and it will pay for itself.
