I bought 100 of the UL 1/4"X11/4" 7.5A/250V glass type fast acting fuse. I received them in the mail and put the fuse in and it blows every time. What fuse do you use to make it work? I went on the Coleman website and the fuse they used to sell for it is discontinued.
If the fuze is blowing, there's a problem. A fuze works by protecting the device from burning out the vehicle because of a defect with the device. Find the problem, fix it, then replace the fuze and see if that doesn't fix it. Somewhere in the device, you have an excessive draw that is blowing that fuze. Find it. Fix it. That may mean replacing the fan/cooler assembly. Good Luck
this is for a cooler that plugs into a cigar lighter ? If so I have had similar trouble and the fault was the end that plugs into the cigar lighter had worn out and gotten hot. It's better to cut it off and hard wire it in to a fuse protected circuit or attach it to cb wiring studs if you have one not being used. But like the other guys said it could be the fan, and you definitely want to take it apart and clean up the cooling fins and fan from time to time to keep it running efficiently.
I've only had this cooler for a month. It's still brand new. I'm just gonna discard it and buy a Igloo 45 quart. I'm done with Coleman.
