Working on a volvo 2000 d-12, first time d-12 owner, truck ran great for the ride home then r the last few miles wouldn't go over 50, then 35, and rpm's seemed to not want to go over 1500. I'm mechanically inclined and can change parts, I don't have a capacity to plug in and check codes, no check engine lights on while driving or idling, fires right up and idles beautifully.

    Tps or vss???

Where is the tps and the vss located? Should these be done at a dealer?? I'd rather do them myself if they are just plug and play . Since I'm going to go thru this truck before I put it to work I might as well start here with fresh sensors..

If you had a sensor problem the check engine light would be on. If the truck was sitting for a while you could have contaminated fuel. More than likely the problem is the fuel filters. You probably have primary and a secondary filters so replace them both. The primary probably has a sight glass bowl where you can see if there is water or contamination in it.
