OK, now I need some advice.

I just bought a 2000 W900L and I'm in the process of going through it and cleaning it up. There's a molded plastic mount of some sorts that I personally have never seen before (been a Peterbilt guy all my life, lol,) next to the shifter, definitely a factory thing as it is bolted to the floor with an OEM torx head bolt. What in the world is this thing? I'm thinking thermos holder...but it doesn't really make sense that it's mounted right in that spot to me. Makes a great water bottle holder, because it's angled backwards a bit, but again, never saw one so I'm wondering if any of you KW guys have one and could fill me in?

    Thanks...

Its a Thermos Holder. One of kenworths most useless options. Don't see them very much.

Thermos holder. The freightliner version has the thermos laying down. What I am seeing in the pic it would never stay in place . To straight up right.

Thermos holder....that was my line of thinking. Fire extinguisher holder was 2nd in line, but I just couldn't wrap my head around why you'd wanna mount one right there...unless you were a chain smoker I guess. :dontknow:

I'll probably leave it there for nostalgic value, and possibly use it for holding my water bottle. Just had me stumped as to what it was, I never saw one but again, I've always had the feelin' for Petermobilin', so it's natural to not be in the know.

Got her all de-greased just now, I am wearing 50% of the grease I blasted off it with the pressure washer but it had to be done. Removed an aluminum hose storage rack off the deck behind the sleeper, and brightened up the aluminum and gave her a nice bath. Not too shabby for a 2000 with over a million miles on her. Fresh ISX Signature 565 in 2006, fresh 18 speed 2 years ago...drives nice, tight all around.

    Before, during & after pics...

Thanks for the input on that weird mount by the way guys...√

My 2000 W900L has one of those thermos holders mounted behind the passenger seat.

    Thanks.

I was lucky...found this on Craigslist, 2.5 hours from home here. I wish it was a Cat really, but I went with this one because I had a history from the rebuilder that it was out of chassis in 2006 and done front to back, top to bottom, then in a dealership in 2011 for 6 recon injectors and a fuel pressure issue. Now that all that's out of the way, an ISX can be a good dependable engine.

Very clean, well maintained as it was hauling hazmat all it's life. Lots of new things I see are replaced, it's all tired up and good to go other than a couple minor little things I'm tinkering with now. I just got out from the bunk floor, vacuumed the entire carpet in every corner. Needs a front bumper in a bad way, but that's not necessary for the moment. 10 years ago, I'd have skipped a payment to get a bumper...I've matured, LOL.
