HELP, i HAVE VOLVO WHEN U TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH ON THE A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH COMES ON AFTER ABOUT 10 SEC. THEN SHUTS OFF AFTER 10 OR 15 SECS AND WILL NOT COME BACK ON UNLESSU CYCLE THE KEY. I PUT 12 V TO THE GREEN WIRE ON THE A/C BOX ON FIRE WALL AND IT RUNS FINE. SOMEONE SAID IT COULD BE DIODE BEHIND THE HEATER CONTROL?? OR THE COLD SWITCH? I REPLACED THE FREEZE SWITCH IN EVAP. BUT DONT KNOW ABOUT A DIODE?? HELP PLEASE

Is there freon in the system? If it is low, the compressor will behave this way.

Yes there is freon. The compressor will come on when switch is turned on and them kicks out even with engine off.

That doesn't mean there is freon. There is a low pressure switch, a high pressure switch, a freeze switch. Have you checked the actual pressure in the system? If it is out a couple lbs it could stop it from working.

Bypassing the hi lo switches is essentially what you are doing so of course it will work when you bypass all safety mechanisms
