I have a 2012 Mack Pinnacle MP8, was wondering if anyone has reached close to the million mark on these motors? I was wondering if I should go pre-emissions, or rebuild the MP8 when it comes time?

600k motor still strong but 15k spent already still not working right. Has to do with SCR system derating the truck. same year and motor

Yea....sigh! I just replaced my EGR cooler, turbo, and the dpf filter. I have 619,000 on mine.

When were injectors looked at? Truck I was driving needs them, something about being loose fitting from the factory. still an issue with nox though. we replaced the egr cooler, egr valve, #7 injector in DPF and controller for that.

Before I got this truck, when I was doing research I read that the MP8s were having trouble with the injector cups. So, I made sure that was replaced before I put a nickel on the truck. They put a whole new set of injectors before I got it. The bull gear went out also, so I had to replace that. Luckily, that was under warranty. NoX sensors also had to replace those. $1700. Those sensors are pricey.

I just bought a 13' it's a 2010 EPA engine though so the same as your 12'. It's got 436K, I have all the warranty history on the truck and the injectors and cups were a known issue on these MP8's. Mine were replaced by the previous owner. For what I paid for the truck used I'd buy another almost rather than even rebuild my freightliner Columbia with a cat. So far the only issues I've had was the doser injector, fuel gauge plunger in the tank, and a break peddle pressure sensor.

That's good to hear, I know one thing about these new trucks is that you don't want to idle them. That soot will build up and cause problems. My Mack has been good for the most part, this truck was a "Big M transportation" so it did get it's routine bare minimum maintenance.

Mine came from Southern Illinois truck lines I think, it's a nice spec'd truck. I will say this I run a fuel additive in mine from Texas Refineries it's the arctic for winter. I run it all year during none winter driving I use half of the recommended, but I really can tell a difference in the truck and the amount of regen's it does. I run flatbed and am fairly heavy all the time, but I don't have a espar heater or apu so I idle when it's cold or to hot (I'm a wuss) but I also idle up when idling. Also, i've heard a lot of mechanics say to just bake the DPF every 100k or so.

IMG_2613.JPG This is when I first put the lettering on it. I like the Mack more than I thought I would.

Yea, I heard that to. I don't think Big M transportation cared about the dpf filter. You know how big companies are, I will be cleaning it every 100,000 miles. Your truck looks good, mine is red. I want to put fairings on mine, and paint it black.
