Sad that the trooper had to state 1 ton equals 2000 lbs

 

At 5 tons max a 1 ton pickup with a gooseneck trailer is also illegal for that bridge. They might as well have closed it to all vehicles and made it a pedestrian bridge.

 

His gozintas was a tad off, but now he knows how far 40T gozinta 5T

 

It's actually scary with some of these cdl drivers who wing it & obtaining their cdl. I remember a co driver who's truck broke down needed a ride back to the yard. I saw a sign stating '5 tons per axle'. Considering I was empty I was o.k. @ 5 axles * 5 = 25 ton (50k lbs). I remember him saying that 'I'm more than good because the tractor & trailer couldn't weigh more than 10,000 lbs total. I was like wtf??.. is this guy serious? How did he obtain a cdl with that thinking? Especially when most tandem semi's are (avg.) anywhere from 15,500 lbs to 17,700 lbs alone and trailers 14k lbs to 17k lbs depending on the brand.

 

How about one's eyes?
My goodness. An old one lane steel bridge and the driver looked at it and said to himself, "Man, this don't look too bad."

Common sense has not been common for some time

 

My 2016 GMC Duramax with flatbed and full slip tank weights 11,200 lbs by itself. This truck driver might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but WTF kind of bridge can't even accommodate a 1-ton dually pickup??

 

Well atleast they rated the bridge correctly. Looks like he got his steers on and thats it. Not sure how u could look at a birdge like that and think ur gonna make it with 40k inthe box.

 

Get that driver a change of pants quick!!!!!
