Hello everyone, I just started reading this forum yesterday and figured I would introduce myself before I started asking questions. I am a 26 year old former law enforcement(county jailer) and Navy veteran looking to obtain my class A CDL and enter the trucking/transportation industry. As of now Im still reading/learning any and everything this site has to offer (at least in regards to school/training company selection) before I bother you all with newbie questions. I hope to have some interesting conversation with the more experienced members as well as those in the same position I'm in.
Welcome There are ton of friendly people(including myself) that happily answer any questions you have. Good luck in your decision making and whatever path you choose.
Welcome Wanna...I'm only slightly ahead of you in the process and agree this forums is an invaluable resource, once you weed out the trolls and 'sour grapes" but don't let it be your only resource. Check out (non affiliated) sites about companies and schools, BBB, and you can even get a lot of knowledge from YouTube, where you'll even have a face to go with the advice you receive (can't really hide behind a screenname there) Keep on posting and tell us how it's going!
I appreciate you guy's support. The users on this site have done a great job answering a majority of the questions I had. I've decided I will attend North Harris (Lone Star College system) for my CDL training and I've found someone who stated they recently went through the same program. But I can't send private messages until my post count is 7, lol...(5 to go)
Also stop by the Welcome Wagon thread for new members (which I keep forgetting to do) introduce yourself and say hi to some others. That will boost that post count quick! Did I say Welcome? I don't think I did... WELCOME!!!!! I'm pretty new also, just over a year on the road. Mikeeee
